Red carpet evening
I went to an amazing event last night. It was the first edition of a plus size lingerie parade hosted by 50 Shades of Sexx (a local sex shop here in Longueuil).
I have to say it was super refreshing! The event was a definite success. Tickets were $ 20. They greeted us with champagne and let it run for most of the evening. After the show, we were all invited to buy anything in the store with a 15% discount, plus we all got to choose a small attendance gift.
The audience was super respectful and encouraging. The models were all superb. And I think they had a good variety of shapes and sizes and different age groups on the track. We saw their trust grow throughout the show. These stunning women also boosted public confidence. I have always felt silly wearing lingerie and it is often difficult to find something that will suit me. As I am between the "plus" size and the "regular" size, I am small and I have no breasts. I have thick hips and thighs so yes trying on lingerie was a big no for me until last night.
They definitely broke the patriarchal mold of what it is to be sexy. Being sexy is an attitude and not a part of the body, sex has no shape or size. Being sexy is the confidence you have in yourself!
I really recommend anyone of "plus" size to shop for lingerie with the advice of employees. They have a really good variety of stuff and they have loads of plus size lingerie. I can't wait for the next edition!
